Currently serves as Chief Executive Officer/Managing Director at Pakistan Mineral Development Corporation (PMDC). Experience: 28 years in public and private sectors Energy and Mining projects, leadership roles at Descon Power Solutions and Saba Power Company. Led multi-site QA/HSE operations and certification programs, Business Development, Stakeholder Management, Human Resource Management, significant cost reductions, Managed enterprise risk, audits, and regulatory compliance at corporate level, successfully implemented IMS across large industrial projects.

Sheraz has almost 27 years of diversified experience, including 19 years C-Suite, in organizations of high magnitude comprising first 5 years in CA firms and then some 22 years’ experience in public (Federal and Provincial SOE’s), private and development sector (World Bank, USAID) relating to the developing and reviewing the corporate and operational strategies and providing strategic input at Board of Directors level in a dynamic and fast paced work environment. He has a unique experience of establishing the internal audit department, both in public and private sector, from scratch and led the internal audit, risk and compliance function of various voluminous entities. It includes an entity having annual turnover of over PKR 150 billion, another having asset base of PKR 16 billion and also a company which awarded contracts over US$ 400 million. His special interests include AI Audit, Enterprise Risk Management Framework, Supply Chain Management and ERP implementation.He is also a Certified Director.

Mr. Farhan Ahmad is a senior legal and corporate governance professional with over two decades of experience in corporate, legal, regulatory and compliance matters, He has extensive in-house and international legal experience, including with Fortune 500 companies. His expertise includes corporate governance, legal and compliance risk management, commercial transactions, restructuring and strategic legal advisory. He holds an LLM in Commercial Laws from the University of Glasgow, is an Advocate of the High Courts of Pakistan, and a Certified Director from PICG.

Mr. Adnan Iqbal Hassan has an extensive professional career spanning 26 years in the mining sector, with 24 years of service and operational experience in PMDC. He commenced his career in 2000 as a Mining Engineer with a private coal mining company at Lakhra Coalfield and joined PMDC in August 2002 as an Apprentice Mining Engineer. During his tenure with PMDC, he has performed duties in various managerial and operational capacities, including Mine Manager and Project Manager, at a number of coal and salt mining projects. His career progression reflects extensive exposure to field operations, mine management, project implementation, production planning, and operational administration. Since 2020, he has been serving as Assistant Vice President (Coal) at PMDC Head Office, Islamabad, and is presently responsible for heading the Coal Department. His extensive field experience and managerial expertise provide him with comprehensive knowledge of coal mining operations, mine development, production management, and project execution.

Rana Tanveer Ashraf brings over two decades of mining leadership with Pakistan Mineral Development Corporation (PMDC). He has managed coal, salt, and silica projects nationwide, advancing from mine management to senior corporate roles. After serving as Deputy General Manager (HSE) until December 2024, he now leads PMDC’s Project Department as DGM/AVP (Projects), driving strategic mining investigations, technical reporting, and project execution. His career reflects a proven record in operations, safety, and project management, positioning him as a vital member of PMDC’s core team.

Faisal Khan is a Geologist with over 15 years of experience in mineral exploration, resource evaluation, QA/QC, and project management. He has led major projects involving copper, zinc, molybdenum, chrome, iron, and other minerals across Pakistan, with expertise in geological investigations, drilling, resource estimation, mine planning, and JORC/NI 43-101 standards.

Beginning his career at Makerwal Collieries Limited, he joined PMDC 13 years ago and has since delivered efficient, safe, and sustainable solutions across underground and surface mining operations, including projects at Khewra, Warcha, and Jatta Bahadurkhel Salt Mines, and the Sharigh, Sorange, and Degari Collieries. He holds a BSc and MSc in Mining Engineering from UET Peshawar, PMP® certification, a Post Graduate Diploma in Remote Sensing & GIS, a First Class Mine Manager's Competency Certificate under the Mines Act, 1923, and certifications in NEBOSH, IOSH, FIDIC Contract Management, Deswik, and Surpac software. These qualifications, certifications, and hands-on operational experience underpin his expertise in exploration, exploitation, and strategic business development, ensuring compliant, productive, and environmentally responsible mining practices, while driving key partnerships and resource development initiatives for PMDC.
